LESSONS, RECITALS AND ABSENCE POLICY

Lesson progress is determined by a comprehensive commitment to learning and practicing repertoire and musicianship skills that are assigned on a weekly basis. Additional emphasis on theory, sight-reading, composition and ensemble is included throughout the year.

Class lessons are held 2 times during the year for all students and take the place of the regularly scheduled private lesson for that week. These are planned according to different age groups, and will be scheduled on the calendar sent to parents at the beginning of each semester. Occasional performance workshops sponsored by CAMSA may be offered by invitation to select students throughout the year.

Two studio recitals (Winter and Spring), are held during the year and are open to all students. Other performance opportunities may include the Royal Conservatory Program, The New England Piano Teachers’ Association, the Mildred Freiberg Piano Festival, The MMTA Judged Festival or Achievement Evaluations or other local music recitals and competitions.

All lessons due to teacher absence will be rescheduled. Student absences are not made up. A lesson swap list will be distributed to families who opt in, however this is no guarantee of being able to reschedule a missed lesson.

Full Semester Tuition refunds will be given according to the following schedule with written notice from the parent (or student if adult):
1. Withdrawal 10 days prior to the beginning of the semester: Full Refund
2. Withdrawal prior to the third scheduled lesson: Adjust Refund
3. Withdrawal on or after third scheduled lesson: No Refund
