In our lives, musical connections are the key to enrichment and growth.
–Lydia Reed-Guertin

My well-balanced piano lessons cultivate understanding, confidence and ultimately joy in music making from beginner through advanced levels. I seek to inspire excellence through repertoire, technique, creativity and composition to students of all ages in Lexington and surrounding communities.

Coming from a musically rich background, Lydia has everything you’d want in a piano teacher: compassion, flexibility, technical expertise, and an ability to motivate and communicate.

Whether Lydia’s students become music professionals or choose a different path, the discipline of daily practice is invaluable for any future professions or activities.

As a performer, one of Lydia’s career highlights is her duo piano partnership with her sister Betty Reed. Together, they performed extensively in the New England area.

about the instructor

Growing up, I remember the anticipation, excitement and nervousness in preparing for New England Piano Teachers’ Association (NEPTA) student recitals. It’s now quite satisfying to be a teacher in the audience complimenting today’s young performers and having served as President of that same organization.

Lydia’s affiliation with other national and international music organizations includes the Royal Conservatory of Music Program, where she is an examiner and certified teacher at the elementary, intermediate and advanced levels, MTNA and the National Piano Guild. Locally she is also a member CAMSA, Concord Area Music Schools Association, serving Concord, Lexington, Arlington and surrounding communities.
